Q: What is Lacrosse? 

 A team sport that originated with the Native Americans. Each player carries a Lacrosse stick. Offensively, the objective of the game is to score by shooting the ball into an opponent's goal, using the lacrosse stick to catch, carry, and pass the ball to do so. Q: How many players play on a field? 

A: There are ten Boys Players on the field for each team: three attackers, three mid-fielders, three defenders and one goalie. (U9 & U11 can be 7v7). Girls play with 12 players on the field. 

Q: Where can my child try the sport?

A: We offer Fall Mini-Camps in October. The mini Camps are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Please refer to the calendar of events on this site to get exact dates.

Q: What age can you start playing Lacrosse?

A: Age group teams start at 9 years old and continue to the age of High School Seniors. Sometimes a child can play-up at the age of 7. A good place to start is playing catch with your child in the yard. 

Q:Can girls play Lacrosse?

A: Yes, the game of Lacrosse is open to both girls and boys. The two games are similar but do have different rules. You can check out the rules at http://www.uslacrosse.org/

Q: When does the season start?

A: Season startsin January and goes to early May.

Q: Are there Try-outs?

A: There are player evaluations late October early November.

Q: What does it cost to play?

A: Approximate amounts...Uniforms $100, Registration $100-350 (depends on team level.) Boys start up gear $200...Girls $100

Required Equipment:

Boys: Gloves, Helmet(Black), Rib Pads(recommended), Protective Cup, Mouth-Guard, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads

Boy Goalies: Helmet (Black), Throat Guard, Protective Cup, Mouth-Guard, Arm Pads, Chest Protector, Shin Guards (recommended.)

 

Girls: Goggles, Mouth-Guard, Gloves

Girl Goalies: Gloves, Chest Protector, Pelvic/Abdominal Protection, Mouth-Guard, Throat Guard, leg pads.
